Corporate office network, built in-house

A new 250-seat office was slated for a vendor buildout. I asked to deliver it myself and owned it end to end.

  • Kept the site online with a temporary 5G network while permanent fiber was installed.
  • Brought up the fiber WAN, gateway, managed PoE switching and Wi-Fi 7 coverage.
  • Segmented corporate and guest traffic, enabled intrusion prevention and tuned RF to fix high retransmission rates.
  • Ranked #1 cost saver in the Phoenix region as a result.

Access control for a multi-building campus

Designed and own the badge system. Caught design flaws before install and made every door safe and code compliant.

  • Redesigned lock power so high-draw locks run on isolated supplies and fail safe on power loss.
  • Added request-to-exit and door-position sensors so every exit works during a fire alarm or outage.
  • Brought the system in-house from a third-party vendor and cross-trained the team.

Cable run and inventory tracker

Replaced manual spreadsheets with a web app that tracks fiber and copper runs and stock for data center builds.

  • Builds pod lists automatically from the room layout.
  • Per-building inventory with check-out and return logs.
  • Every admin adjustment is recorded with who and why, and can be undone.

Team tooling and Slack apps

Tools that took manual work off the team: a hub used by 105+ people, automated shift reports and a tailgating alert app.

  • SharePoint hub with a daily tracker, forms and role-restricted access, adopted by a second team.
  • Slack app tied to access control that flags tailgating and shows a live muster roster.
  • Rescued a failing AWS Lambda app for another team and fixed its security issues.
